DrEichlerDr. Barbara Eichler

Dr. Eichler’s dream when growing up was to make a difference in a profession where boredom is not an option! She started working for Dr. Tom Shore at age 16, and fell in love with the art and science of veterinary medicine.

Dr. Barbara Eichler graduated from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. Immediately upon graduation, she worked at the Humane Society in St Louis, where she had interned as a student. By Labor Day that same year, she was hired as a primary veterinarian for the Animal Emergency Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska. Working at the emergency clinic allowed Dr. Eichler to develop her skills and surgical technique in an environment where the ability to communicate with clients and calm patients is essential. In 1988, she returned to St Louis to be closer to family. She worked with Dr. John Adams for 6 years at Spanish Lake Animal Hospital and Jamestown Veterinary Clinic. On July 1st, 1994, Dr. Eichler opened her own clinic in Bridgeton. In 2005 her practice was relocated to Hazelwood due to airport expansion. The need to relocate was a blessing in disguise, as it allowed the hospital to have its own free standing building and not be limited by a leasehold location.

During the past 6 years Dr. Eichler has been an active member of CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team) with Florissant Police Dept, and is also listed with Hazelwood CERT as the vet to contact in the face of an emergency. Dr. Eichler has served as the treasurer of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce, and has been actively involved with the Chamber since 2005.

Dr. Eichler has a passion for surgery and internal medicine, and strives to make quality care available to her clients. She utilizes the most current research available in the industry to make educated decisions regarding patient care and client education. As a frequent attendee of continuing education seminars, her clients benefit from her extensive knowledge and experience.

Dr. Eichler is very proud of her daughter Amanda, and has been blessed with a son-in-law, Cory as well as a grandson, Nikos, Granddaughters Katina and Thalia Rose.  In addition to her professional life, Dr. Eichler is very active in her church and allows God to guide and direct every aspect of her life. She loves playing softball, golf and playing with her grandbabies.
